"We would like to thank the authorities, police units and localities for actively participating; thank the news agencies, newspapers and online community for sharing information; thank the community for their generosity in sending clothes, utensils and food to the children in the past days, helping them return to their families," Mai Chau District Police announced.

Previously, on April 18, a Mai Chau resident living along Highway 6 discovered two children walking their bicycles and showing signs of hunger, thirst, and fatigue. The residents took the children into their home to bathe, cut their hair, change their clothes, and reported to the Mai Chau District Police to come and take them to the headquarters to take care of them and find their relatives.

Through the press, social networks and mass media, by the night of April 19, Mai Chau District Police had contacted the relatives and family of the two children.

The family said the two children had left home on March 29, and by the time Mai Chau District Police discovered them, they had been gone for 21 days. The distance from their usual residence to where they were found was about 500km.
