On the afternoon of October 4, the Vietnamese team began gathering at a hotel in Thu Dau Mot ward to prepare for the match against Nepal in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

To prepare for the 2 qualifying matches of Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup, the Vietnamese team will gather from October 4 to 15 in Ho Chi Minh City, specifically the 2 matches will take place at Binh Duong Stadium and Thong Nhat Stadium.

After round 6 of V-League 2025-2026, the players will fly to Ho Chi Minh City to gather at The Mira Hotel, Thu Dau Mot Ward, about 2.5 km from the stadium.

The first member to arrive was goalkeeper Nguyen Van Viet of The Cong - Viettel Club. Next was goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club.

At exactly 3 p.m., a 50-seat bus carrying many members of the Vietnamese team's coaching staff, including head coach Kim Sang Sik and his technical assistants, and the players who had flown on the previous flight, arrived.

Also on this trip were midfielders Nguyen Duc Chien, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Truong Tien Anh, Nguyen Van Vi, Pham Xuan Manh, Nguyen Hai Long, Cao Pendant Quang Vinh, Do Duy Manh, Nguyen Hieu Minh, Nguyen Phi Hoang and Khuat Van Khang.

Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai suffered a shoulder injury and was eliminated at the last minute. As a result, the original 24-man roster is now down to 23. There is no information yet on who will be replaced by the team.

Around 4:30 p.m., Van Lam took a shuttle bus to the hotel alone and checked in. He did not go with any teammates and quickly went to the elevator to meet his friends.

This is the first time Van Lam has returned to the Vietnamese national team since the training session for the AFF Cup 2024 at the end of last year. This year, the Vietnamese-American goalkeeper has not been called up even once.

Some players who have not yet arrived at the hotel to join the team include striker Nguyen Tien Linh. Tomorrow, October 5, the Vietnamese team will start training at 5 p.m. at Go Dau Stadium.
