Quang Hai continues to be absent from the Vietnam team, missing 2 matches against Nepal

Midfielder Quang Hai will not participate in the October training session and will not be with the Vietnamese team in the two matches against Nepal in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.

On October 4, Nguyen Quang Hai did not go to Ho Chi Minh City to join the Vietnam national team like his teammates in the North. He stayed at the club to focus on recovering his physical strength after a period of continuous hard work for the Hanoi Police Club in 3 arenas.

Quang Hai's wish was agreed and facilitated by coach Kim Sang Sik and the coaching staff of the Vietnam national team. The team now has 23 players and still has enough quality options in the midfield, such as Hoang Duc, Duc Chien, Thanh Long or young player Xuan Bac.

This is the second consecutive training session this year that Quang Hai has asked to be absent even though he is not injured. Previously, Hai was named in the September training session but asked to be absent to recover his health.

This opens up more opportunities for young players and new elements to contribute and show themselves in the Vietnam national team. Under coach Kim Sang Sik, any player has the opportunity to play for the national team if they meet the requirements of physical strength, tactics and desire to contribute.

The Vietnamese team has 4 days to prepare for the first leg match against Nepal in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup. After the first leg on October 9 at Binh Duong Stadium, the team will play the second leg on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium.
