With favorable weather, gentle seas and calm waves, fishermen in Tien Dien commune are actively fishing at sea. At this time, it is the season of sea shrimp, with abundant output, so fishermen are very excited.

Fisherman Trinh Quang Trung in Yen Ngu village said: Every day from 5am I go to sea to catch shrimp until 4pm. Shrimp usually go in schools so they are easy to catch. In just one day of fishing, my boat "scooped" nearly 500kg of shrimp, earning more than 4 million VND.

Shrimp here is exploited close to shore, fishermen can make many trips a day.

The joy of a good harvest and good shrimp price of fishermen

When fresh shrimp is brought ashore, it is immediately sold to traders.

According to fishermen, the current average price of fresh shrimp is about 7,000 - 8,000 VND/kg. This is a fairly high price, so fishermen are very excited. However, this is a sunny time, so many fishermen and traders buy it to dry and sell it for a price more than 10 times higher.

After docking and unloading their cargo, the fishermen continue to sail out to sea to catch shrimp.

Having just returned from 3 trips, fisherman Trinh Thai of Yen Loi village said: From the 5th to the 7th lunar month is the main season for sea shrimp. At this time, the shrimp is in season and has a good price, so we are very excited and try to go out to sea to collect "sea blessings".

On average, each fishing boat catches about 500 kg of shrimp, some boats catch more than 1 ton, earning from 4-7 million VND/day. In recent days, shrimp have appeared so densely that most of the boats going out to sea have had a big hit.

The entire Tien Dien commune currently has about 25 boats going out to sea to catch sea shrimp, with a daily output of 15-20 tons. Thanks to the good season of sea shrimp, it brings high income to fishermen, and at the same time creates jobs for many people involved in processing shrimp.
