Phu Cat airport runway, Phu My Industrial Park… simultaneously started construction on August 19

On August 19, Gia Lai province will start construction and inaugurate a series of large-scale projects such as: Runway No. 2 of Phu Cat airport, Phu My Industrial Park Phase 1, and the technical opening of Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway.

Besides budget investment projects, many large-scale non-budget investment projects were also started on the same day.

Bustling highways and airport runways open to traffic and start construction

On August 16, Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, representative of Project Management Board 85, the agency operating the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon expressway project, said that they are urgently preparing for technical traffic opening on August 19.

The project has a total length of more than 70km, passing through Gia Lai province with a total investment of more than 12,400 billion VND. The project was started in January 2023 by Project Management Board 85, Ministry of Construction , representing the investor, and is expected to be completed in December 2025.

Meanwhile, the project to build runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport will also start on August 19. The project has a total investment of 3,246 billion VND, mobilized from local capital sources and increased central budget revenue.

Of which, the central budget revenue increase is 1,500 billion VND, the remaining 1,746 billion VND from the local budget.

The project is assigned to the Gia Lai Provincial Transport Project Management Board for implementation, with an investment period of 2025 - 2028. Runway 2 can accommodate Code C aircraft such as A320, A321 and can accommodate Code E aircraft when needed.

Some other transport infrastructure projects invested by the budget will also be inaugurated on this occasion, including the project of the southern bypass of Phu Phong town, nearly 18km long, with a scale of more than 800 billion VND. The project of the road connecting from the western road of the province (DT638 road to the coastal road DT639).

Construction of many large industrial parks started

For non-budget investment projects, mainly industrial park and industrial cluster projects. In particular, the groundbreaking ceremony of Phu My Industrial Park Phase 1 in Phu My Dong commune will be the place where Gia Lai province will directly connect to the groundbreaking ceremony of 250 large projects nationwide on August 19.

The project is invested by Phu My Group Investment Joint Stock Company, with a total capital of about 4,500 billion VND. Phu My Industrial Park Phase 1 has a total area of ​​nearly 437 hectares, located next to Phu My deep-water port.

The project is flexibly planned in zoning from 1 - 50 hectares, integrating logistics, warehouse, support services, administrative - technical areas, wastewater treatment and green space.

Phu My Industrial Park Phase 1 is oriented to attract industries such as: agricultural, forestry and fishery processing; renewable energy industry; chemical, plastic and steel industry; logistics services and supporting industrial production.

Another industrial park project that broke ground on the same day was the Cat Hanh Industrial Cluster project in Hoa Hoi commune, Gia Lai province, invested by Saigon - Nhon Hoi Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (SNP).

The project aims to invest in construction and business of industrial cluster infrastructure, attracting the following main industries: agricultural and forestry product processing; production of interior and exterior furniture from wood, plastic, metal, recycled materials; production of garments, weaving, dyeing.

Besides, there are also industries: manufacturing of textile accessories and components, precision mechanics, automobiles; packaging production, industrial printing; production of energy tablets, organic fertilizers, bio-fertilizers; warehouse business and other industries.

The project has a scale of 70 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 433 billion VND.
