Thuy Linh's impressive win still couldn't help her team escape defeat.

On the afternoon of October 3, at the BXL Team Badminton Tournament held in Indonesia, Thuy Linh and team Lightning experienced their second consecutive defeat.

On the opening day, Thuy Linh and her teammates lost to Blitzer. Therefore, they had to beat Hurricane in the second match.

Hurricane is a collection of tennis players Anthony Ginting, Kirsty Gilmour, Isfahani, Goh Sze Fei, Mathias Christiansen, Gloria Widjaja, Treesa Jolly, Siti Ramadhanti.

Lightning includes reigning Olympic men's singles champion Viktor Axelsen and players Fajar Alfian, Nur Izzudin Rumsani, Yuta Watanabe, Shevon Lai, Tse Ying Suet, Rutaparna Panda and Thuy Linh.

BXL is a special badminton tournament, played in a new format. The two opposing teams must play 4 matches, including two singles and two 3v3 matches. Each match consists of 5 games, and each game lasts 8 minutes. Each singles win is worth 1 point, while a 3v3 win brings 3 points.

The use of 3-on-3 format and time limit is new in badminton competition.

The first match between Lightning and Hurricane on the afternoon of October 3 was a 3v3 match. Hurricane quickly created dominance and won 3-1.

The pressure was now on Thuy Linh’s shoulders as she played match 2, a women’s singles match. Despite facing many difficulties, the Vietnamese player kept her composure and won 3-1, bringing hope to her team.

Next up was the men's singles match between reigning Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen (Lightning) and Anthony Ginting (Hurricane). With his class, the Dane won 3-1 to help Lightning revive hope.

The final 3v3 match was the deciding factor of the match. Lightning fielded a lineup of Tse Ying Suet, Shevon Lai, and Yuta Watanabe. They started off well, but were then overtaken and lost the first match.

The more Lightning played, the more difficult it became for them. At one point, Thuy Linh was brought in but could not save the situation. Her team lost 0-4, thus losing to Hurricane 2-6.

After 2 defeats, the chance for Thuy Linh and Lightning to win the BXL championship is almost gone. They will have 1 more match against the Rockets.
