Journey to honor the beauty of national culture in the heart of Thang Long
On the evening of October 11, at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the program "Heritage Footsteps" brought the audience a colorful performance night, where traditional values and the quintessence of world culture blended together in an impressive artistic space.
As a special highlight of the 1st World Cultural Festival in Hanoi , the program gathered nearly 100 traditional costumes from participating countries, creating a colorful picture of national identity and international friendship - the largest and most diverse scale ever held in Vietnam.

After the opening with three songs “Welcome Vietnam”, “Hello Vietnam” and “Dang em lua la”, the program continued with performances of ao dai with strong national imprint.
The first part introduces two collections of Vietnamese Ao Dai: “Hanoi in Hanoi” by designer Vu Viet Ha and “Heritage in Hanoi” from Ao Dai Ngan An by designer Anh Thu.

The collection “Heritage in Hanoi” by Ao Dai Ngan An – a famous brand in Hanoi founded by designer Anh Thu – continues to honor the elegant and graceful beauty of Hanoi women.
Especially on stage, the ao dai performance by the wives of the ambassadors of the US, Japan, Czech Republic, and Ukraine left the audience in awe.
Designer Anh Thu - a native of Hanoi, and models transformed into "storytellers in ao dai", bringing the audience into the thousand-year-old cultural space of Thang Long.
Interspersed between the Ao Dai performances were musical performances such as “Kinh Bac Charm”, “Dem Hoa Dang”, “Co Ba Sai Gon” and “Vietnam My Home”, contributing to creating a colorful artistic atmosphere.

The performance of nearly 100 costumes from 19 countries in the spirit of connection and friendship left many impressions. Culture is not only present in songs and dances, but also woven into each traditional costume - each one is a story, a national symbol.

The audience admired collections of traditional costumes from countries including India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, UAE, Angola, Cuba, Mexico, Morocco, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Ukraine, Venezuela. Each costume is a cultural bridge, sending a message of peace, solidarity and mutual respect between nations.
Traditional costumes from Rajasthan to Gujarat showcase vibrant colors and intricate craftsmanship that reflect India’s diverse heritage. Indonesia’s Baju Kurung, Baju Adat Palembang, and Kebaya exude elegance and national pride through precious songket material and intricate embroidery.

Design inspired by Persian culture and peoples expressing freedom, art and pride.
Sinh and Salong are symbols of traditional Lao textiles, bringing elegance and pride, often worn in festivals and ceremonies.
From the simple Longyi to the flamboyant Htamein, Myanmar's traditional dress blends aesthetics, climate and culture.
Meanwhile, the modest black abaya worn by Saudi women and the modest dress worn by Saudi men represent dignity, elegance and Islamic identity.
The graceful osariya and simple sarong combine elegance with timeless heritage, representing Sri Lanka's national pride.

The diverse cultures of Europe, Africa and the Americas are reflected in their distinctive traditional costumes. The Guayabera and carnival dress are vibrant symbols of the Cuban spirit. The intricately embroidered Mexican Folklorico dress evokes celebration and national pride. The colorful Joropo dress is a symbol of Venezuelan celebration and cultural pride.
Continuing the tradition of traditional Vietnamese costumes is the Vietnamese ancient costume, from the collection "Van Yen Weaving" by designer Nguyen Mi.

The two Ao Dai collections that ended the program included "Thang Long - Mark of Time" by designer Minh Pham and "Nguyet Hoa" by designer Ha Trinh (Hanuo).
If “Thang Long – Mark of Time” is a dialogue between the past and the present, “Nguyet Hoa” brings feminine beauty, elegance and artistic quality through the performance of MC Van Hugo, actress Quynh Nga, Quynh Kool and professional models.

At the end of the program, the 5 most unique designs of the participating designers were auctioned off for charity, supporting people affected by the recent storms and floods. There was also an auction of ceramic vases, paintings and pearl necklaces.
This is not only a meaningful humanitarian activity of the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi, but also a testament to the spirit of mutual love and spreading love of the Vietnamese people.
