Scoring a masterpiece against Japan, what did the young star of the Vietnamese national team say?

The Vietnamese team conceded a goal quite early in the 11th minute, after Minamino's shot. Just 5 minutes later, coach Troussier's team had an equalizer.

Nguyen Dinh Bac was the one who scored a beautiful goal to help the Vietnamese team bring the match back to the starting line in the joy of the fans. From a corner kick, this 20-year-old striker chose a good position and headed the ball back dangerously, leaving goalkeeper Suzuki just standing and watching.

Talking about this goal, the young striker of Quang Nam Club said: "Regarding this header situation, my team and I have practiced in advance. This is the result of the whole team, through a long time of our efforts together."

Nguyen Dinh Bac (15) headed beautifully to equalize 1-1 for the Vietnamese team.

"I am very happy to score the first goal for the Vietnamese team at the 2023 Asian Cup. Especially, this was a goal against the Japanese team. I think this is a springboard for me to continue to try harder," the striker born in 2004 added.

Dinh Bac said that, against the strongest Japanese team in Asia and in the top of the world , the Vietnamese team played very bravely and showed their best. He exclaimed: "With what they have done, I think the Vietnamese team can hold their heads high to move forward, towards the remaining two matches in the group stage of the 2023 Asian Cup".

Despite his young age, Dinh Bac has received a lot of trust from coach Troussier. Facing the stars of the "Blue Samurai", the 20-year-old striker showed the necessary confidence in his handling. The striker of the Quang Nam team had many situations of dribbling and passing the ball delicately. Regarding the "needle-threading" of the opponent, Dinh Bac modestly said: "I think that was just a temporary moment on the field."

Dinh Bac (15) is very confident when facing Japanese stars.

"Coach Troussier has instilled a lot of confidence in the whole team. From there, the players can give the audience and fans their best performance. I think that playing against a strong team like Japan is a very valuable experience, so that I can learn and try harder in the future," the striker from Nghe An confided.

Dinh Bac was also very moved when he saw the image of the red flag with yellow star flying on the Qatar field, along with the appearance of many Vietnamese fans in the West Asian country: "I am really happy to see many Vietnamese fans on the field. I want to send my thanks to all Vietnamese fans and especially the spectators who came directly to the field to cheer for the Vietnamese team."

In the end, the Vietnamese team lost 2-4 to the Japanese team. In the second match, coach Troussier's team will face the Indonesian team on January 19.
