Family presents valuable documents of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi on the occasion of the Hung King's death anniversary

(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater held a ceremony to receive and present valuable documents from the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi on the occasion of the 2025 Theater Ancestor's Death Anniversary.

On October 3, on the occasion of the 2025 Anniversary of the Vietnamese Theatre, the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi, represented by Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam (former Principal of Duong Van Duong High School, Nha Be Commune, Ho Chi Minh City) presented valuable documents that People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi had painstakingly compiled and preserved for decades to the Ho Chi Minh City Hat Boi Art Theater.

Due to old age and poor health, People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi did not personally attend the reception ceremony, but delegated all authority to his son.

The theater gave it back to the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi.

Meritorious Artist Nguyen Hoang Vinh - Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Opera House, representing the Theater, received valuable resources including research materials, books, newspapers, etc. from the family of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi.

At the reception ceremony, Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam shared: "7 years ago, my father was still very clear-headed, he gave me all the personal documents that I could not imagine during the process of him researching, compiling, and collecting. I understand that this is a legacy, of course, its material value cannot be assessed but its spiritual value is enormous. He said to find a way to share this source of documents with those in need."

Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam said that at that time he was also confused, he prepared a library for exhibition, and preserved all the documents. However, he found it inconvenient to share them with everyone. Fortunately, during the Tet holiday last year, the HCM City Opera Theatre troupe visited People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi, Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam proposed and was shared by Meritorious Artist Nguyen Hoang Vinh about donating these documents to the HCM City Opera Theatre for preservation.

"We hold it in our hands, it is just a manuscript, a valuable book but not known to everyone. If we bring it to the HCM City Opera House with its own space, in accordance with everyone's expertise, it will reach many people. I think this is a precious thing not only for art but also for our family" - Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam confided.

Mr. Dinh Thanh Tam - son of People's Artist Dinh Bang Phi spoke on behalf of his father about the family's wishes.

The family wishes that the precious source of documents will reach the right place, at the right time. Secondly, the family hopes that this source of documents will be preserved so that it can reach the hands of artists who need the source of documents, specialized students, and those who are passionate about research, according to the family's wishes. Some of the documents were typed about ten years ago and are now starting to fade. If the conditions are met to digitize all the documents, it will be easier to use in the future, bringing practical benefits.
