Gia Lai organizes Wild Sunflower Week

Press conference on Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano

From November 6-12, Gia Lai province organized the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2024 with many unique cultural, sports and artistic activities.

The highlight of the event is the opening ceremony on the morning of November 8, 2024 at the communal house yard of Ia Gri village, Chu Dang Ya commune, with the ceremony to receive the Vietnam Record for the gong performance with the largest number of participants. Many other exciting activities include: the competition to conquer the peak of Chu Dang Ya volcano, folk art and traditional costumes performances, hot air balloon releases, and the 2024 Half Marathon with the theme "Awakening the Chu Pah countryside - Journey connecting Mountains and Flowers".

Activities will take place in many locations such as Nghia Hung commune, Bien Ho and Chu Pah area, giving visitors the opportunity to experience Gia Lai's landscape and learn about the Central Highlands culture. The week promises to bring unique experiences, contributing to the preservation of traditional culture and promoting local economic development.

Through the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano in 2024, Gia Lai province continues to introduce the image of Wild Sunflower associated with Chu Dang Ya Volcano, which was voted by the Vietnam Record Organization Vietking as one of the top 10 most attractive destinations in Gia Lai. In particular, Chu Dang Ya was recognized as one of the 10 most beautiful volcanic craters in the world by a British magazine (2018).

The main venue is the communal house yard of Ia Gri village, the Volcano area of ​​Chu Dang Ya commune, the Nghia Hung commune area, Chu Pah district and the Bien Ho area, Pleiku city, Gia Lai province.

As part of the activities of the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano in 2024, there will be cultural activities, sports activities, the Chu Dang Ya Volcano Peak Conquest Competition, folk games, art exchange programs, souvenir stalls, typical products, local specialties, exhibition of photographic works on culture and tourism development potential of the province, traditional weaving and brocade weaving competitions, hot air balloon launching, and the 2024 Half Marathon "Awakening the Chu Pah countryside - Journey connecting Mountains and Flowers".
