Domestic pepper prices today
Today's pepper price was updated at 4:30 a.m. on March 3, 2025 as follows: Domestic pepper prices remained stable compared to yesterday and remained at a high level. Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 158,000 VND/kg.
Specifically, today's pepper price in Gia Lai province remains stable compared to the previous trading session, currently the pepper purchase price in this locality is at 157,000 VND/kg. Similarly, pepper price in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is purchased by traders at 157,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Binh Phuoc province fluctuated little and tended to stabilize. After the previous high increase, pepper prices are currently purchased at 158,000 VND/kg.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Dak Nong provinces are stable and remain high. Currently, the pepper purchase price in these two localities is at 159,000 VND/kg.

Last week, domestic pepper prices decreased from VND2,000/kg to VND3,000/kg. Thus, pepper prices have reversed after 3 consecutive weeks of increase after the Lunar New Year holiday. The reason is said to be due to the supply from the new crop starting to enter the market.
According to the latest data from the General Department of Customs, January 2025 recorded remarkable fluctuations in Vietnam's pepper export activities. Although the export volume decreased, the export turnover grew impressively, reflecting a large change in the value of this item in the international market.
Specifically, in January 2025, Vietnam exported 12,958 tons of pepper, bringing in 87 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 25.9%, but the turnover increased by 25.1%. This shows that the average export price of pepper has increased sharply, reaching 6,755 USD/ton, up 68% compared to the same period in 2024.

Vietnamese pepper is now present in 30 major markets around the world. Of which, the United States continues to be the largest export market with a turnover of 21.7 million USD, up 8.4% over the same period last year.
Vietnam's pepper industry is facing a great opportunity to break through and set a new record in export value in 2025. According to the forecast of the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), global pepper output continues to decline while consumption demand remains stable, creating favorable conditions for Vietnam's pepper exports.
With the current pepper export price having increased by 68% compared to the same period last year, VPSA believes that pepper exports in 2025 will be very favorable. The association forecasts that this year's pepper export value could reach a record 1.5 billion USD.

World pepper prices remain stable today
Update on world pepper prices from the International Pepper Association (IPC) at 4:30 a.m. on March 3, 2025 as follows: the pepper market remains stable and anchored at a high level compared to the fluctuations in the previous session.
Specifically, IPC listed the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper at 7,235 USD/ton; Muntok white pepper is currently purchased at 9,959 USD/ton.
The Malaysian pepper market, after a sharp increase, has remained at a high level. Currently, the price of Malaysian ASTA black pepper is purchased at 9,700 USD/ton and the price of ASTA white pepper is at 12,200 USD/ton.
Pepper prices in Brazil, after a slight increase in the previous session, also tended to stabilize, with the current purchase price reaching 6,850 USD/ton.
Vietnam's pepper export market is stable and slightly decreasing. Specifically, the export price of Vietnam's black pepper is currently at 6,900 USD/ton for 500 g/l; 550 g/l is at 7,100 USD/ton; and the price of white pepper is at 9,900 USD/ton.

Vietnam exported pepper to four ASEAN member markets. Of which, export turnover to the Philippines reached 2.58 million USD (down 3.3%), Thailand reached 2.19 million USD (up 2.8%), Malaysia reached 1.17 million USD (up 116%) and Singapore reached 0.2 million USD.
