Gold price hits new peak, gold flower bouquets "sold out" on October 20 holiday

The closer to Vietnamese Women’s Day, October 20, the more bustling the flower and gift market becomes. Many shops have to operate at full capacity, taking orders many days in advance.

Unique and creative gifts such as wax flower balls; flowers with water, cakes; bouquets made of money... still attract customers' attention. In particular, in the context of high gold prices, some gifts made of gold or gold-plated are also in high demand.

A gold shop in District 11 (HCMC) is selling many rose models made of 24K gold to serve customers on the occasion of October 20. The shop staff said that the shop only has 1-chi (3.75 gram) gold flower model and 2.5-chi gold flower bouquet left. The other models have been sold out.

"Product prices will change according to the gold price at each time. On October 18, the price of 9999 gold was at 8.55 million VND/tael, so a 2.5-tael gold bouquet costs 23.575 million VND, including the product processing fee of 2.2 million VND," said an employee of this store.

Similarly, Ms. Trang, owner of a jewelry store in Dong Da district, Hanoi, also revealed that on October 20 this year, her store sold mini 24K gold flower bouquets for the first time and received many orders.

"A 0.08 flower bouquet is equivalent to 0.35 grams of 24K gold with a heart-shaped box priced at 1.65 million VND. The store guarantees real gold and will buy it back if customers have a need," said the store owner, adding that there are many fakes of this gift set, so buyers need to be careful to buy the real thing.

In addition, Ms. Trang shared that the best-selling model at her store on October 20 this year is a 24K gold rose weighing 0.3-0.4 taels/flower. "This flower model is suitable for giving to mothers and lovers, so it is "sold out". The store has imported more besides the quantity that customers ordered, but it will be out of stock by the end of today," she shared.

At her shop, 24K gold roses are also created into small bouquets, the processing fee for each flower is 390,000 VND/flower, the bouquet fee is 80,000 VND/product, the number of flowers in the bouquet depends on the customer.

"Many customers also choose to buy yellow roses with real flowers in a bouquet. The design is beautiful, the amount of gold is moderate, and the price is reasonable, so many customers like it. Most customers buy one rose, but some also buy 6-10 roses," the shop owner added.

This year, Ms. Khanh Huyen (Cau Giay District, Hanoi) plans to buy a 24K gold mini bouquet as a gift for her mother on October 20. "Every year I usually buy flowers and gifts for my mother, but this year the gold flower model is quite new. Recently, gold has been very difficult to buy because the price has been constantly increasing, so I bought a real gold bouquet for my mother to keep," she said.

According to Ms. Huyen, currently, there are many shops selling flowers made of 24K gold on the market, so she chooses a reputable shop with a clear gold certification certificate.

Basically, 24K gold is a type of gold with a purity of 99.99%, suitable for making gold bars or gold ingots for storage, instead of jewelry because 24K gold is quite soft and easily deformed.

In addition to 24K gold products, many gold-plated gift models continue to attract customers to buy as gifts for the 20/20 holiday this year. Mr. Hoang Minh Huy, representative of a high-end gold-plated product manufacturing enterprise in Hanoi, shared that this year, customers interested in gold-plated roses increased by about 20% compared to last year.

"The price of gold has been continuously increasing and production costs have also increased, so product prices have had to be adjusted. The store has adjusted the prices of some old products and launched new products such as a more beautiful version of the 24K gold-plated rose for 4 million VND," said Mr. Huy.

On the occasion of October 20 this year, a representative of this store said that they delivered an order of more than 50 gold-plated roses to a real estate company in the South to give to VIP customers.
