World oil prices on September 17
According to Oilprice at 4:30 this morning (Vietnam time), Brent oil price reached 67.65 USD/barrel, up 0.31% (equivalent to 0.21 USD). WTI oil price also increased 0.47% to 63.58 USD/barrel. At the end of the trading session on September 16, both types of oil increased by more than 1 USD/barrel, reflecting investors' concerns about the consecutive attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure.
Transneft, the Russian oil pipeline operator, warned of possible production cuts after drone attacks on its export terminals and refineries, Reuters reported. The port of Primorsk, one of the country's key export gateways, has become the main target, potentially disrupting the flow of crude oil to international markets.
Domestic gasoline prices on September 17
In Vietnam, the retail price of gasoline this morning is applied according to the operating period from 3:00 p.m. on September 11. E5 RON92 gasoline decreased by 95 VND/liter, to 19,756 VND/liter. RON95-III gasoline decreased by 39 VND/liter, to 20,400 VND/liter.
On the contrary, oil prices have had different adjustments. Diesel 0.05S increased by 170 VND/liter, to 18,643 VND/liter. Kerosene increased by 54 VND/liter, reaching 18,314 VND/liter. Fuel oil 180CST 3.5S decreased by 286 VND/kg, to 15,090 VND/kg.
During this period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance decided not to set aside and not to spend from the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund, ensuring that domestic selling prices accurately reflect fluctuations in the international market and maintain a reasonable gap between E5 RON92 and RON95 gasoline to encourage the use of biofuels.
