Some groups of goods and services had high increases, such as medicine and medical services increased by 13.73% due to price adjustments according to Circular No. 21/2024/TT-BYT; housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials increased by 10.5% due to increases in household electricity prices, material prices and house rents; food and catering services increased by 2.45% mainly due to the prices of pork, seafood and vegetables. In addition, other groups of goods and services, household appliances, clothing, beverages, culture - tourism all increased slightly.
On the other hand, CPI was controlled thanks to the transportation group decreasing by 3.83% due to a decrease in gasoline prices of nearly 10% and the education group decreasing by 0.5% thanks to the policy of exempting and reducing tuition fees at some public high schools.
In general, price fluctuations in the first nine months of 2025 were mainly affected by food prices, housing costs - electricity, water and medical services, while gasoline prices and education support policies contributed to limiting the increase in CPI.
CPI in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 3.43% compared to the third quarter of 2024. Some of the main reasons for the increase in CPI are the food and catering services group increasing by 2.15%, the housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increasing by 12.37%, the medicine and medical services group increasing by 9.14%...
In September 2025 alone, the CPI increased by 0.46% compared to the previous month. In general, the CPI in September 2025 was stable, with no major fluctuations in essential goods.
