At the end of the month, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 368 VND, RON 95 decreased by 443 VND
According to the latest decision, from 3:00 p.m. on September 25, 2025, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline will decrease by VND368/liter to VND19,618/liter. Similarly, RON 95 gasoline will also decrease by VND443/liter, currently at VND20,165/liter.
Meanwhile, the prices of oil products have clearly differentiated. Diesel 0.05S decreased by 47 VND/liter, to 18,658 VND/liter. In contrast, kerosene increased by 84 VND/liter, to 18,628 VND/liter and fuel oil 180CST 3.5S increased by 79 VND/kg, reaching 15,209 VND/kg.
Notably, the Joint Ministry has decided not to set aside and not to use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund.
The world market is unpredictable.
The adjustment of domestic oil prices took place in the context of a volatile world market. Global fuel prices in the last operating period (September 18 - September 24, 2025) were strongly affected by many factors. OPEC+ increased export output, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East escalated, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict continued. These developments caused world oil prices to fluctuate unpredictably.
According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Trade , the average price of RON 92 gasoline decreased by 2.42%, while RON 95 gasoline decreased by 2.66% compared to the previous period. In contrast, the price of kerosene increased by 0.65% and fuel oil increased by 0.78%.
On the morning of September 25, WTI oil price increased by 1.32 USD/barrel, reaching 64.75 USD/barrel, while Brent oil increased by 1.36 USD/barrel, reaching 68.99 USD/barrel. The main reason was due to the unexpected decrease in US crude oil reserves, along with concerns about tight supply from Iraq, Venezuela and Russia.
Some experts said that the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) report showed that crude oil reserves fell by 607,000 barrels last week, a figure that was completely opposite to analysts' forecasts. Although this decrease was much lower than the report of the American Petroleum Institute (API), John Kilduff, a partner at Again Capital, said that the report supported the increase in gasoline prices.
Previously, in the operating period on September 18, the prices of E5 RON92 and RON95 gasoline both increased, by VND230/liter and VND208/liter, respectively. The prices of diesel, kerosene and fuel oil also increased simultaneously.
With gasoline prices falling after the previous increase, Vietnamese consumers may enjoy a slight "cooling down" in travel and living expenses.
