Meeting on internal affairs, judicial reform, anti-corruption and religious work in the third quarter

On the afternoon of October 9, comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee chaired a conference to review internal affairs, judicial reform, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and religious work in the third quarter, and deploy key tasks for the fourth quarter of 2023.

Also attending were comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrade Pham Quang Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrades in the Provincial Steering Committee for Religious Affairs, the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior, the Provincial Steering Committee for Judicial Reform; leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and sectors of the province, leaders of districts and cities.

Discussing at the conference, delegates unanimously assessed: In the third quarter of 2023, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee led and directed all levels and sectors to seriously, closely, and effectively implement internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity, and judicial reform.

Notably, the political security situation and social order and safety in the province were stable and maintained; local defense and military work was strengthened; crime was strictly controlled, no sudden or unexpected situations occurred; absolute safety was ensured for political and cultural events, and delegations of Party and State leaders visiting and working in the province.

The work of propagating, disseminating and thoroughly understanding the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws on internal affairs, anti-corruption, anti-negativity and judicial reform continued to be strengthened and had many positive changes; the awareness of law observance among cadres, party members and people was raised.

Party committees and authorities at all levels have strengthened their leadership and direction over internal affairs agencies. The organization and apparatus of judicial agencies have continued to be consolidated and improved. The quality of investigation, prosecution, trial, execution of sentences, arrest, detention, and rehabilitation have been ensured in accordance with the law, preventing injustice and letting criminals escape. The work of inspection, examination, public reception, and settlement of complaints and denunciations has been given attention and implemented with quality.

Regarding the religious field, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee for Religious Affairs, and the Provincial People's Committee have directed all levels and sectors to proactively grasp the situation, organize meetings, exchanges, visits, and congratulate religions in the province on important occasions. In general, religious activities in the province take place normally, complying with legal regulations, and security and order at religious establishments are ensured.

Regarding the direction and key tasks of the fourth quarter, the conference agreed: focus on proactively grasping and controlling the local situation, doing well in political and ideological work, leading and directing well the tasks of local defense, military , security, order and border protection in 2023.

The focus and immediate task is to successfully organize the 2023 Provincial Defense Area Exercise, strengthen prevention and fight against all types of crimes and law violations.

Localities and units focus on doing a good job of receiving citizens, resolving complaints, denunciations, and lawsuits, especially those related to land, compensation, and site clearance, etc.

The prosecution agencies shall strengthen coordination, improve the quality of prosecution, investigation, prosecution, trial and execution of sentences in the spirit of judicial reform, combating wrongful convictions and missed crimes. Continue to propose cases and incidents to be monitored and directed by the Provincial Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negativity; speed up the progress of handling and resolving cases and incidents under the monitoring and direction of the Steering Committee.

Continue to propagate and seriously and effectively implement leadership and direction documents of the Central and the province on the field of belief and religion; strengthen the Steering Committee for religious work at all levels; pay attention to developing party members who are religious.
