On the morning of September 30, at the official session of the 1st Bac Ninh Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, comrade Nguyen Quang Duong, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, announced the Politburo's Decision appointing comrade Nguyen Hong Thai to hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

At the same time, the Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee also announced the Politburo 's Decisions on personnel participating in the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Executive Committee with 72 members; the Provincial Party Standing Committee includes 19 members. The Deputy Secretaries of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee include Comrade Nguyen Thi Huong (Standing Deputy Secretary), Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan (Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee) and Comrade Nguyen Viet Oanh (Deputy Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council).

Along with that, the Secretariat decided to appoint the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee consisting of 15 comrades. Comrade Tran Huy Phuong was assigned as Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee. The Congress also approved the appointment of a delegation to attend the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Politburo's trust in assigning the important responsibility of Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee to Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai not only shows trust in him personally, but also affirms the Central Government's special attention to Bac Ninh province in the new period.

Comrade Nguyen Hong Thai was born in 1969, in Hung Yen province. He is currently a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, a member of the Central Military Commission, a delegate to the 14th National Assembly, and holds the position of Deputy Minister of National Defense. He has a Bachelor's degree in military science and advanced political theory.

During his career, Comrade Nguyen Hong Thai has held many important positions in the military and locality. He was a member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Military Party Committee, and Commander of the Phu Tho Provincial Military Command. From September 2016, he was appointed Deputy Commander of Military Region 2; in July 2018, he became Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of Military Region 2, and then Commander of the Hanoi Capital Command.

In October 2019, he was assigned to the position of Commander of Military Region 1, and in March 2024 was appointed Deputy Minister of National Defense. With extensive experience in leadership and management, especially in the field of national defense and security, comrade Nguyen Hong Thai is considered a cadre who has grown up from the grassroots, has a strong political stance, and a decisive and meticulous working style.

In the context that Bac Ninh has just completed the arrangement of administrative units, entering a new development phase with the goal of becoming a centrally-run city before 2030, the Politburo's appointment of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Hong Thai as Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee has strategic significance.
