Hanoi announces 10th grade specialized benchmark scores in 2023

Among the four specialized high schools with specialized classes, Hanoi - Amsterdam has the highest 10th grade benchmark score, including Chinese 43.3/50.

At noon on July 1, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training announced the admission scores for specialized 10th grade classes. The admission score is the sum of the three general exams Math, Literature and Foreign Language, plus the specialized subject score multiplied by two, maximum 50. Candidates registering for a specialized class will take the exam for that specialized subject, except for the IT specialized class, which takes the Math exam.

Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted has a benchmark score of 40 or higher for most of its specialized classes. Of which, the Chinese class has a benchmark score of 43.3 points, the same as last year, with an average of 8.66 points per subject. This is the highest benchmark score this year. The two classes with benchmark scores below 40 at Ams School are Informatics - 39.75 and Chemistry 37.95.

Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted does not have any class with a benchmark score of 40, but the average score is quite even, ranging from 34 to 39. Among them, the 10th grade class specializing in English has the highest score in this school with 39.3 points.

Chu Van An High School has two classes with a benchmark score of 40, English and History, 40.25 and 40.75 respectively. While the English class has a stable benchmark score compared to last year, the History class increased by nearly 4 points.

Tay Son High School has the lowest standard score among the four schools with specialized classes. Literature has the highest score with 34.5 points, Physics 31.75. Three other classes have a standard score above 30: English, History and Math. Compared to last year, the standard score of most specialized 10th grade classes is higher. Chemistry is the class with the lowest standard score at Son Tay School, only 23.7, an average of 4.74 points per subject is required to pass.

The 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi took place over three days, June 10-12, with more than 104,000 students, of which about 10,000 registered for specialized classes.

Successful candidates will enroll in school from July 5 to 7. If the quota is not met, schools will begin recruiting additional students from July 10, with enrollment from July 11 to 14.
