A notable highlight in the 2025 university entrance exam is the clear attraction of excellent candidates to pedagogical majors.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training , the average benchmark score of all admission methods to majors and schools in 2025 is 19.11.

Meanwhile, the benchmark score for admission methods to majors and schools in 2024 is 22.05. The Ministry of Education and Training believes that this reduction is consistent with the sharp decrease in high school graduation exam scores in 2025 in three subjects: math, biology and English.

In the context that the average benchmark score in 2025 is about 3 points lower than in 2024 and there is strong differentiation between sectors, the Ministry of Education and Training assesses that the encouraging signal is that the enrollment results of pedagogical sectors have clearly improved.

Specifically, in this year's university entrance exam, of the 74 majors with a standard score based on high school graduation exam scores of 28 points or higher (the absolute score is 30), there are up to 50 pedagogical majors.

At the recent conference on higher education, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that the high entrance scores for the pedagogical sector show the ability to attract social attention to this sector.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the general university admissions for 2025 have basically been completed as planned. The number of candidates who have completed admission confirmation is 625,477, an increase of nearly 14% compared to 2024.

The total number of candidates registered for admission was up to 852,000 with 7.6 million wishes for more than 4,000 majors and training programs of more than 500 universities and colleges.
