At a meeting with fans at Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi) this afternoon (September 9), when asked why they invested so heavily in terms of personnel for Asia's number one playground, Hanoi FC Chairman Do Vinh Quang said: "We invested heavily to be able to play our best in the AFC Champions League, fulfilling our responsibility of representing Vietnamese football in the Asian tournament.

Hanoi FC is aware of its responsibility and will strive to bring back the best results and performances to fans in the capital as well as the whole country."

Having to face many strong teams, most notably the reigning AFC Champions League champion, Urawa Red (Japan), Mr. Do Vinh Quang surprisingly shared: "Honestly, facing so many strong opponents, including the reigning champion, is both a sadness and a joy for Hanoi FC.

Because it's not easy to meet one of the strongest teams in Asia like this, we will try our best."

In the 2023/24 season, Hanoi FC is honored and proud to represent Vietnamese football in the AFC Champions League, the most prestigious club-level tournament in Asia, facing the strongest teams in the continent, Urawa Red (Japan), Pohang Steelers (Korea) and Wuhan Three Town (China).

Group J of Hanoi FC is considered the group of death, with very strong opponents. Therefore, in recent times, Hanoi FC has invested a lot in personnel to strengthen the team. Most recently, after central defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh left, Hanoi FC brought in a foreign player to replace him, Damien Le Tallec.

This is the 6th foreign player of Hanoi FC to prepare for the 2023/24 season, especially to prepare for the AFC Champions League. This foreign player has an extremely special profile, having won the Bundesliga with Dortmund in 2013.

Hanoi FC participating in the AFC Champions League group stage is likened to the image of a miniature Vietnamese team in the continental arena. The top performances of Hanoi FC will contribute to raising the level of Vietnamese football, marking a step forward in the development of Vietnamese football on the Asian and world football map.

Facing the strongest opponents in Asia, midfielder Do Hung Dung of Hanoi FC confidently shared with fans in an exchange this afternoon: "The number of AFC Champions League spots for each country is very small, so we will try our best to make Vietnamese football proud.

We will have to face very strong opponents, but the whole team is confident that, as long as we have a large number of fans coming to the stadium to cheer us on, Hanoi FC will not be afraid of any opponent at home.

With the support of the fans, whether we meet the reigning champions, teams from Korea or China, we are confident and will try our best to win. Away from home, things will be more difficult, but we will always try to get from 1 to 3 points."

Present at this afternoon's Hanoi FC fan meeting at Hoan Kiem Lake were national team players Van Quyet, Duy Manh and Tuan Hai. All showed great determination for the AFC Champions League.

The success of Hanoi FC at the AFC Champions League will promote the development of domestic football, motivate the young generation to practice and strive, creating generations of talented players for Vietnamese football in the future.

As part of the AFC Champions League 2023/24 kick-off activities, in addition to ticket sales, Hanoi Football Club also organized many other activities such as exchanges with Hanoi FC Chairman Do Vinh Quang, the coaching staff and players of the capital team at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street (Hanoi), starting from 9:00 a.m. on September 9 until the end of September 10.
