Tran Hung Dao Bridge across the Red River has its starting point at the intersection of Tran Hung Dao - Tran Thanh Tong - Le Thanh Tong in Cua Nam and Hai Ba Trung wards; its end point connects with Nguyen Son street, in Long Bien and Bo De wards.
The total preliminary investment of this project is more than 12,000 billion VND. Of which, the construction investment group has a value of 8,200 billion VND including two component projects. The project has 2 components including: Component project 2.1 will invest in the construction and renovation of Co Linh - Hong Tien road at the intersection of Co Linh road and Tran Hung Dao bridge; Component project 2.2 will invest in the construction of Tran Hung Dao bridge.
The total length of Tran Hung Dao Bridge is 4.18 km, of which the length of the bridge is 870m, the cross-section of the bridge is 43m wide, ensuring 6 lanes for motor vehicles, 2 lanes for bicycles and 2 lanes for pedestrians. The bridge leading to both banks of Hong Ha and Long Bien has a total length of about 1,213m, width of 26-41.5m, design speed of 80km/h.
Tran Hung Dao Bridge was invested in construction to reduce traffic pressure for existing bridges such as Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Vinh Tuy, Thanh Tri. When completed, the bridge will connect the central area of Hanoi with the Eastern area, creating a premise for urban, industrial, commercial and service development, contributing to promoting socio -economic and urban economic development.
According to the Hanoi Transport Development Plan approved by the Prime Minister, Hanoi will have 17 bridges across the Red River. Currently, 8 bridges have been built, including: Long Bien, Chuong Duong, Thanh Tri, Vinh Tuy phase 1, Vinh Tuy phase 2, Thang Long, Nhat Tan and Vinh Thinh bridge (Son Tay town).
9 bridges are being and will be built in the near future, including: Thuong Cat Bridge and 2 bridgeheads, Van Phuc, Hong Ha, Me So, Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao, New Thang Long, Ngoc Hoi, Phu Xuyen.
