The space of Son Tay Ancient Citadel is brilliant and vibrant when residential groups simultaneously bring to the Mid-Autumn Festival lantern model contest with unique creations.

To have beautiful models, people in the residential groups came up with ideas to build themes and design models, decorating the model cars with Uncle Ho's pictures, star lanterns, fruit trays and folk characters.

On the second competition night, Son Tay ward also displayed two lantern models in the middle of the ancient citadel moat called "Two dragons facing the moon", spraying fire and water, creating a vivid effect, becoming a unique highlight of this year's Mid-Autumn Festival.

The organizing committee said that the teams were scored based on their ideas, formation, costumes, props, lamp models and introductions, before participating in a parade around the Citadel moat amid the enthusiastic cheers of locals and tourists.

Along with the contest, a series of folk cultural experience activities were organized, from lion - dragon dance, making star lanterns, making figurines, making moon cakes to folk games and taking photos in a creative space. This is not only an artistic playground for children but also an opportunity for the community to recreate and preserve the beauty of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.

The art program "Full Moon Festival - Mid-Autumn Festival of the Ancient Citadel - Son Tay Xu Doai" with the participation of 57 residential groups, combined with the award ceremony of the Mid-Autumn Festival lantern model contest, will take place at 7:30 p.m. on October 4, 2025 (ie Saturday, August 13 of the lunar calendar) at the main stage of the walking street of the Ancient Citadel of Son Tay with the award structure including 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 5 Consolation Prizes.
