On the afternoon of October 7, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , a leader of Traffic Police Team No. 6 ( Hanoi City Police) said that at about 10:00 a.m. the same day, at the Tu Mo - Pham Hung intersection (Yen Hoa Ward, Hanoi City), the water level was about 30cm.
When passing through this area, many people showed signs of numbness in their limbs, some even collapsed, suspected to be affected by the electric current leaking underwater.
Upon discovering the incident, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 6, Traffic Police Department (Hanoi City Police) on duty in the area quickly contacted the electricity unit, coordinated inspection, identified the source of the electric leakage and promptly resolved the issue, ensuring safety for people and vehicles.
"People passing by felt their legs go numb, so we informed the electricity company to handle the problem immediately," he told Tuoi Tre Online .
To prevent risks, Traffic Police Team No. 6 also mobilized specialized vehicles to support transporting people and vehicles through flooded areas, guiding them to move along safe routes.
Authorities recommend that people do not go through deeply flooded areas, and avoid stopping or parking vehicles near electric poles, transformer stations or exposed power lines to ensure safety.
