In the autumn days of August, Hanoi puts on a brilliant coat. On every street, the red of the national flag, the Party flag, billboards, slogans, and posters stretch endlessly. From the historic Ba Dinh Square to the neighborhoods, the breath of National Day is rushing in, hurried yet solemn.

The 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) is not only a great festival for the whole nation, but also an occasion for the Capital to affirm its position, aspiration and burning patriotism.

Throughout Ba Dinh Square, the preliminary and final rehearsals of the parade and march attracted tens of thousands of people to watch and cheer. The resounding drum beats, synchronized footsteps, and neat military formations made the atmosphere seethe with pride. The Government , ministries, branches, and Hanoi People's Committee had made detailed plans for the parade and march of tens of thousands of people, conveying the message of solidarity, bravery, and aspiration of the nation.

Hanoi City has deployed a series of plans to ensure security, traffic, health , epidemic prevention, and respond to unusual weather. Drinking water, dry food, and resting places for participating forces have been carefully prepared. Free buses and metro operate all night to pick up and drop off people, with special priority given to the elderly and visitors from far away areas.

The “Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful” movement has spread, making every street and every house seem to light up, contributing to creating a radiant Hanoi. Sharing while helping to distribute drinking water to the audience, Nguyen Thu Hang, a member of the Hai Ba Trung ward union, said: “We feel very proud to be able to contribute a small part to this important event. Standing in the middle of the capital on these historic days, looking at the joyful crowd, I clearly feel the love for the Fatherland spreading in every look and smile.”

Hanoi is affectionate and proud

Not only did Hanoi prepare carefully in terms of facilities, it also shone with human kindness. Hundreds of families opened their homes, inviting veterans and war invalids from other localities to attend the ceremony for free accommodation. Meals, bottles of water, and simple sleeping places were given away, full of love, adding to the elegant and kind beauty of Hanoians.

Veteran Pham Van Binh, residing in Yen Dinh commune (Bac Ninh province) was moved: "Seeing the capital covered with red flags, my heart feels like reliving the memories of the years of fighting. Our generation is proud to have contributed a small part so that today the country can have such a big festival... I am even more moved to see today's young generation continuing, enthusiastic and full of responsibility."

Nearly 200 parking spots have been set up across 6 central districts, making it more convenient for people to attend. LED screens set up on all roads, from the center to the communes and wards, will allow everyone to join in the heroic atmosphere of the big festival.
