Bringing a warm Mid-Autumn Festival to children being treated in hospitals

On the afternoon of October 6, the Hanoi Center for Social Work and Children's Fund coordinated with the Vietnam Children's Fund to organize two programs "Giving gifts to children being treated at the hospital on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival" at Hanoi Children's Hospital and Ha Dong General Hospital.

This is a meaningful annual activity directed by the Hanoi Children's Fund Sponsoring Council and the Department of Health, aiming to bring children in special circumstances, who are being treated at medical facilities, a warm and loving Mid-Autumn Festival; at the same time, spreading the spirit of responsibility and solidarity of the whole society in the work of protecting, caring for and educating children.

Speaking at the program, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung said that, along with the task of taking care of people's health, from 2025, the Department has been assigned additional tasks of social protection, population, family and children. In recent times, the Capital's Health sector has directed its affiliated units to actively organize many activities of visiting, giving gifts, scholarships, and taking care of the spiritual life of children in difficult circumstances in the area. On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, with the authorization of the Hanoi People's Committee, the Hanoi Department of Health organized delegations to visit and give gifts to children at the Centers and villages for child care and nurturing under the Department. And this gift giving program at Hanoi Children's Hospital and Ha Dong General Hospital once again contributed to spreading love to children in difficult circumstances.

At two hospitals, 200 children with special circumstances and difficult circumstances being treated received Mid-Autumn gifts with a total value of money and gifts of 190 million VND.

These gifts contain the sharing, care and warm feelings from the units and sponsors, contributing to encouraging and giving strength to the children to overcome illness and soon return to normal life.

Representatives of Hanoi Children's Hospital and Ha Dong General Hospital expressed their deep gratitude to the Hanoi Department of Health, the Social Work Center and the Hanoi Children's Fund, the Vietnam Children's Fund and accompanying organizations and businesses; affirming that this is a valuable source of encouragement for the medical staff and children being treated at the hospital.

In addition to the gift-giving activities, the program also brought a bustling atmosphere of the Mid-Autumn Festival with joyful performances of art, circus, and magic, helping children temporarily forget the pain of illness and join in the joy of welcoming the moon with the community.

This series of meaningful activities continues to affirm the cooperation of the Capital's Health sector and social organizations in caring for and protecting children, spreading the message of love and humanity to the community.
