The theme of this year's final - “Competitive competitions for students must end” - opened up a frank dialogue among young people about the true meaning of “school competition”.
Watch the exciting debate at the Teen School 2025 final:
The team supporting the petition believes that the pressure of exams and the “race for success” is causing many students to lose the joy of learning. Contestant Ngoc Minh (Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted) shared: “If an education system only fosters a competitive spirit, then we are teaching students to ‘run faster’, not to teach them to go in the right direction.”
On the contrary, the opposing team asserted that competition is not for elimination but for development. Candidate Giap Linh (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai ) argued: “Competition is the premise of cooperation. Many academic communities, from Olympia to excellent student clubs, are built from this spirit.”

After nearly an hour of debate, the tight arguments and real-life evidence helped the team from Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted (Gia Lai) win and become the 2025 Teen School Champion. However, what remained more in the match and this playground was the spirit of civilized dialogue and the way today's generation of students dared to speak up about their own problems.

The Teen School program, produced by VTV7 - Vietnam Television and British University Vietnam (BUV), has entered its 8th season. Each year, the program attracts thousands of high school students nationwide to participate, encouraging critical thinking, presentation skills and teamwork ability.
This year's Champion team received a 75% scholarship (worth about 750 million VND) from BUV - a reward for their intelligence, courage and creativity.
