Hanoi ranked 2nd in the top most affordable tourist destinations in the world in 2024

Wethrift, a website that specializes in providing promotional codes for travelers, published the study after evaluating seven factors: the number of direct flights arriving and departing, the total number of visitors, the average price of an attraction ticket, the price of a public transport ticket, the price of a meal for two, the cost of clothes and food, and the average price of a weekend room for two at accommodation establishments.

With a score of 63/80 for Hanoi, Travel Off Path suggests that tourists should definitely explore the street food culture when visiting the capital of Vietnam. The average cost of a small meal and drink is only about 4 USD, about 98,000 VND, according to Wethrift's report.

"With such a wide variety of accommodation options, you'll have no trouble finding a place to stay that suits your needs in Hanoi without breaking the bank," says Travel Off Path.

Meanwhile, New Delhi (India) ranked first in the list of cheap destinations voted by Wethrift with 69.2/80 points. The research showed that tourists can enjoy butter chicken for only 2.41 USD, about 59,000 VND in the Indian capital.

The Egyptian capital Cairo is the third cheapest destination with a score of 61/80. The city along the Nile River is a suitable place for visitors who like to explore the Sphinx and ancient pyramids, especially on a limited budget. The average hotel room price in Cairo is around 71 USD, about 1.7 million VND.

In addition to the top three positions, the names that Wethrift also highly appreciated and ranked are Istanbul in 4th place with 59.3/80 points, Hurghada is a small fishing village in the Red Sea province, Egypt - ranked 5th with 59.2/80 points, Bali (Indonesia) is famous as the most popular tourist destination in Southeast Asia ranked 6th with 53/80 points, and finally Bangkok (Thailand) ranked 7th with 52.6/80 points.

Previously, the famous travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler listed 21 cheapest destinations for tourists in 2024, including Vietnam. Condé Nast Traveler commented, "Currently, many countries in Southeast Asia have great deals for tourists. However, we recommend you to come to Vietnam because of the incredible beauty of this country."

Hanoi is considered the most romantic city in the country. However, the American magazine suggests that tourists should visit other unique destinations in Vietnam such as Ninh Van Bay, Phu Quoc... with pristine beaches and romantic resorts.
