HAGL has not scored any goals in V-League 2025-2026: Why?

After the first 3 rounds of V-League this season, HAGL has not scored any goals. They are the only team that has not scored against their opponents.

HAGL has few high-quality attacking personnel

After 3 matches, HAGL lost 2 and drew 1, got 1 point, ranked 13th out of 14 teams participating in V-League 2025-2026. Notably, HAGL is the only team that has not scored any goals after the first 3 rounds.

Perhaps this is not a surprise to Vietnamese football fans. Regarding objective reasons, among the 3 opponents that HAGL had to face at the beginning of this year's season, there were 2 very strong teams, including Hanoi FC and Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (HCMC Police), HAGL will of course have difficulties in those matches. Regarding subjective reasons, the mountain town team no longer has many excellent attacking players, especially domestic players.

Last season, HAGL had two domestic players with good attacking ability, including midfielder Tran Minh Vuong and midfielder Chau Ngoc Quang. Chau Ngoc Quang is a national player, a member of the Vietnam team that won the AFF Cup 2024, while Tran Minh Vuong is a former national player.

Last season, HAGL had promising attacking players including striker Nguyen Quoc Viet and midfielder Nguyen Duc Viet. Football playing habits affect attacking ability

Meanwhile, this season, the domestic players on the HAGL Club's attack line are quite unknown. The most well-known player among the domestic players on the HAGL attack line in the 2025-2026 season is striker Tran Gia Bao (member of the Vietnam U.19 team). However, Gia Bao is only 17 years old, too inexperienced in playing in the V-League.

Before the start of this season's V-League, HAGL added Vietnamese-American striker Ha Ryan and foreign striker Conceicao Dos Santos. However, Conceicao Dos Santos has not been able to adapt to the V-League, and Ha Ryan is only average in skill.

Next, in terms of playing style, HAGL is currently playing too heavily on defense. In particular, they rely too much on high ball situations, rely too much on exploiting set pieces, which inadvertently causes HAGL players to lose the habit of coordinating in small groups on the field.

In fact, in HAGL's roster there is still a very talented midfielder, Da Silva Marciel, who played well last season, alongside Minh Vuong and Chau Ngoc Quang. But because HAGL is currently playing too many high balls and long balls, Marciel's technical qualities have hardly been used in the past rounds.

The attack line is "silent", HAGL's front line can hardly put pressure on the opponents, making it more difficult for them to score points in V-League matches. This is something that the mountain town team must soon study and improve, because if they cannot score, they will not be able to find victories. Then, it will be more difficult for them to escape the current difficult situation.
