Thousands of visitors flock to the Am Chua Festival

Taking place from the 1st to the 3rd day of the 3rd lunar month every year, the festival is an occasion for spiritual and cultural activities, expressing gratitude to the Holy Mother Thien YA Na - the goddess who taught people how to plow, grow mulberry, raise silkworms, weave cloth...

In addition to locals and tourists , the festival also attracts many pilgrimage groups from neighboring provinces.

This year's festival will include activities: sacrifices, incense offerings, ball dancing, singing, folk games...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Huong - Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Dien Khanh District, Khanh Hoa Province - said that this year, the festival is held on the occasion of 37 years since the Am Chua Festival was restored.

"We are very happy that this year's festival has received the participation of people and tourists from near and far, coming to remember and pay tribute to the motherland. Everyone will join in the traditional religious space and pray for good things in life" - Ms. Huong said.

According to the Am Chua relic management board, this year the number of pilgrimage groups registering to attend the festival has increased.

There are more than 100 pilgrimage groups with thousands of people registered with the organizing committee to practice Mother Goddess worship rituals.

On the first day of the festival, a large number of local people and tourists also attended with the number of about 10,000 people. The relic management board has fully prepared the facilities, guided the pilgrims and local people to ensure order and safety.

"I have known about this festival for a long time, but this is the first time I have come to offer incense and worship the Holy Mother to send my wishes," said Ms. Huynh Ngoc Tien, a tourist from Phu Yen .

Am Chua is a national cultural relic.

Am Chua historical and cultural relic, located on Dai An mountain in Dien Dien commune, is associated with the legend of Thien YA Na, deeply imprinted in the subconscious of every agarwood land resident.

The relic was heavily damaged during the war, Am Chua Festival was officially restored in 1987.

In 1999, Am Chua was recognized as a national relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information. Currently, this relic still preserves many royal decrees of the Nguyen Dynasty.
