As the new day began on Ba Dinh Square, at 5:50 a.m. the same day, the flag-raising delegation solemnly paraded in formation from the right side of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum to the front of the flagpole to the heroic sound of military music of the march "Marching under the military flag".
Leading the flag-raising procession was the Quyết Thắng flag. Following was the honor guard with soldiers from Group 275 (Command of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum). The ceremonial formation consisted of 37 people wearing white uniforms. The Quyết Thắng flag team led the way, followed by 34 honor guards symbolizing the first 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, the predecessor of the Vietnam People's Army.
At the foot of the flagpole, when the signal is given, the flag is hoisted by a guard of honor to the sound of the national anthem. The flag is slowly raised to the top of the 29-meter flagpole in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum.
The image of the flag flying over Ba Dinh Square on the first day of September left a sacred and proud mark in the hearts of thousands of people who attended in person, when the ceremony, parade, and march to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam will take place at 6:30 a.m. on September 2, 2025. The Vietnamese national flag flutters bright red in the free sky of the country, symbolizing the eternity of the Fatherland in the hearts of every Vietnamese person.
The Flag Raising Ceremony at Ba Dinh Square is a national ceremony of Vietnam.
