Hundreds of subjects were criminally prosecuted during the peak period of the crime suppression campaign.

Implementing the order of the Minister of Public Security and the directive of the Provincial People's Committee, from December 15, 2024, the entire Quang Tri police force from provincial-level units to commune, ward and town police simultaneously launched a peak campaign to attack and suppress crimes, handling hundreds of law violators.

Accordingly, the Provincial Police have deployed 3 provincial-level armed patrol teams, 18 district-level armed patrol teams and 119 commune-level patrol teams to strengthen crime prevention and law violation prevention from January 24, 2025 to February 2, 2025, contributing to deterrence, prevention, and ensuring the maintenance of security and order during Tet.

The provincial police force discovered 44 cases of social order violations with signs of crime (down 27 cases, down 38% compared to the previous year), injuring 6 people, causing property damage of more than 680 million VND; investigated and clarified 40/44 cases, arrested a total of 98 subjects, recovered assets worth about 350 million VND. Discovered and administratively handled 89 cases/218 subjects violating the law. Strengthening the fight against and handling of crimes and law violations related to "black credit", the police force discovered , arrested, prosecuted 2 cases/3 subjects of crime, punished 4 cases/4 subjects related to "black credit". Discovered and handled 78 cases/280 subjects of gambling, seized 683 million VND in cash; prosecuted 13 cases/41 defendants; administrative violations were punished in 62 cases/214 subjects with a fine of more than 150 million VND.

The economic police force arrested and prosecuted 39 cases/50 subjects for crimes related to corruption, economics, smuggling, and trading in prohibited goods; arrested and handled 86 cases/87 subjects for administrative violations in transporting and trading in smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin, seized other goods with a total value of nearly 2.5 billion VND, and imposed fines of more than 660 million VND. Detected and arrested 1 case/2 subjects for illegal trading of explosives; arrested 33 cases/40 subjects for crimes of transporting, storing, and trading in prohibited goods such as firecrackers, seized 85 kg of explosives, 400 detonators, and more than 1.3 tons of firecrackers; prosecuted 26 cases/34 subjects; arrested 85 cases/87 subjects for administrative violations related to firecrackers, including 73 cases/75 subjects for illegal use of firecrackers, and imposed fines of more than 370 million VND.

The anti-drug crime police force discovered and arrested 80 cases/122 drug offenders, an increase of 40 cases/68 subjects compared to the same period before the peak, confiscating more than 3.6 kg of heroin, 15 kg and 84,796 synthetic drug pills. Arrested 190 cases/194 subjects illegally using drugs and transporting 639 N ₂ O gas cylinders (laughing gas), an increase of 58 cases, an increase of 25 subjects compared to the peak of the previous year, and fined nearly 250 million VND.

The environmental police force arrested 1 case/1 subject for violating regulations on the protection of endangered and rare animals; arrested and handled 77 cases/77 subjects (2 organizations, 75 individuals) for administrative violations in the fields of environment, resources, and food safety, and imposed fines of more than 52 million VND. In addition, they discovered and arrested 1 case/1 subject using high technology to defraud and appropriate property; and persuaded 1 especially dangerous wanted subject to surrender.

Also during the peak period, the whole province had 5 fires, causing no human casualties, property damage of about 40 million VND. Traffic police increased patrols, control, detected and handled 3,246 violations, including 564 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 7 drug violations, fined more than 9 billion VND, and temporarily detained 863 vehicles.
