Journey through the Heritage Land: New attraction of Vietnam Marathon

(Dan Tri) - The combination of physical running and cultural and heritage experiences has created a unique attraction for marathon races organized by DHA Vietnam in recent times.

DHA Vietnam makes its mark with international marathons

Since 2007, the marathon organized by Duc Huong Anh Company (DHA Vietnam) has always welcomed a large number of athletes, as the tournaments of this unit always focus on combining large-scale sporting events with cultural and heritage elements as highlights.

DHA Vietnam has built a system of heritage races that go through famous cultural heritage routes across Vietnam, such as the race route in the heart of the world's natural wonders of the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon; the race route in the middle of the river delta, touching the Southern identity of the Can Tho Heritage International Marathon or the race route through famous cultural heritages of the Capital in the Standard Chartered Heritage Marathon Hanoi.

Among the marathon tournaments, the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi is considered the largest international tournament in Vietnam today, with the Organizing Committee aiming to attract 20,000 athletes to participate in the 2025 season.

As the 10th race in the global Standard Chartered Marathon system, Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi is on a journey to standardize in all aspects to approach international names such as Standard Chartered Singapore or Hong Kong and stand among the most prestigious races in the region.

Meanwhile, the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon was once honored by Runner's World UK magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful routes on the planet, attracting a large number of international athletes.

And even the youngest race in the system - the Can Tho Heritage International Marathon - the first race in the Mekong Delta with a course certified by AIMS to meet international standards - is aiming for 10,000 athletes by 2025, becoming the largest sporting event in the region.

Notably, all three marathons in the DHA Vietnam Heritage Run system are certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races - AIMS and the World Athletics Federation as meeting international standards.

In particular, from 2022, DHA Vietnam's Heritage system will officially join the Abbott World Marathon Majors (WMM) Age Group Ranking System - which brings together the 7 biggest races on the planet such as Boston, Tokyo, London, Berlin, New York, Chicago and Sydney, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese athletes to register for the most prestigious marathon arena in the world.

Efforts to put Vietnam marathon on the world marathon map

One of the keys for DHA Vietnam to gradually put the Vietnamese marathon on the international marathon map is the cross-border cooperation strategy.

Over the years, to bring more benefits to athletes, DHA Vietnam has actively built a partnership network with many major running races in the region such as Bangsaen42 (Thailand), Chiang Mai International Marathon (Thailand), Angkor Empire Marathon (Cambodia) and races in the global Standard Chartered Marathon system.

This is a basis for exchanging organizational experiences, sharing professional personnel, as well as enhancing professional athlete exchanges between countries.

For example, the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2025 will welcome athletes from Thailand to exchange and compete, and vice versa, it will also bring elite Vietnamese athletes to participate in the event in Thailand - opening up opportunities for the domestic running community to compete internationally.

According to statistics, DHA Vietnam is also the only organization in Vietnam that builds a sales network with international representatives in major markets such as Asia and Europe.

This explains why the company's races always attract the largest number of international athletes, with nearly 1,300 international athletes from 55 countries at the Standard Chartered Marathon Heritage Hanoi 2024; especially the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon, attracting the largest number of foreign athletes in Vietnam - with an expected nearly 3,000 international athletes in 2025, an increase of 131% compared to 2024.

Not only stopping at connecting efforts, DHA Vietnam also promotes the image of Vietnam on international media channels. At the same time, the article about the Ha Long Heritage International Marathon published in a series in the magazine brought the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay to millions of sports-loving readers around the world.

All of the above achievements show that DHA Vietnam's persistent efforts are not only in organizing the marathon, but also in a systematic strategy to connect sports with tourism, connect the community with the international community, and connect heritage with the future.
