In recent days, Chinese social networks have been abuzz with images of a children's park in Lijiang, Yunnan province (China).
Among them, statues such as "human centipede" and "three-faced girl" are considered to have strange shapes, making viewers feel uncomfortable or even shiver.
According to Red Star News , the park in question is called the Wild Kingdom. It is a popular tourist attraction with a series of unique sculptures.
On travel platforms, this place currently holds the second place in the ranking of the highest rated places in Lijiang.
Park apologizes for bizarre image
According to park staff, the works here mainly have the theme of childhood imagination with a colorful "free-flowing" style.
They said: "Some people find it interesting, others find it strange or a bit scary, it comes from each person's different perception and aesthetic.
In fact, very few visitors who have been here say they were scared. On the contrary, children often love these shapes because they are unusual and stimulate curiosity."

It is known that the Wild Kingdom park is an art work founded by folk artist Tan Tieu Dao.
Many of the works here are made from recycled materials, with a touch of "environmental art". This is described as a "fairy tale town" where everything is strange but cute, able to make people smile.
However, not everyone is receptive to this style of art. On social media, some visitors left comments saying that statues such as the "human centipede" and the "three-faced girl" are too abstract and difficult to understand, making them feel uneasy.

"I don't know what the author wants to convey, but it really looks quite strange and a bit creepy"; "It looks like a horror land, not a wilderness"; "Children and adults alike cry in here"... - some comments.
On the contrary, there is also the opinion that art should have free creative space, not necessarily pleasing everyone.
"If you don't like it, you can just not come. But don't use your personal feelings to negate the creative efforts of others," one user responded.
In response to mixed reactions from the public, on October 13, the park management board posted a statement admitting that some artworks had caused discomfort to some visitors.

Park representatives explained that the original purpose of designing these statues was to recreate the innocence and playfulness of childhood through surreal and creative images.
"We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to the public. Wild Kingdom always appreciates all feedback from visitors and has been quick to make adjustments.
Currently, some controversial works have been removed to ensure a better visiting experience for everyone," the statement said.
