Coach Amorim: 'Man United boss offered me a new contract'

This rumor has more basis when Man United is having a series of bad performances. Specifically, they only won 4 points after 4 rounds in the Premier League and were eliminated from the League Cup.

At a press conference on September 19, Mr. Amorim opened the press conference with a joke: "He offered me a new contract. No, it was just a normal meeting to show support." He added that Sir Jim Ratcliffe had reaffirmed that this was a long-term project and that this season was his first full year at Old Trafford.

Although admitting that the team has made progress in terms of playing style, coach Amorim frankly pointed out Man United's biggest weakness at present.

“Last year, I was not satisfied with the way the team played. Currently, we play well, but our defense and attack in the penalty area are not sharp enough.

We need to be stronger and take better advantage of our chances. If we don't score, all the expected goals and statistics will be meaningless," Amorim commented.
