Ke Go Lake spills water to lower water levels ahead of forecast heavy rains caused by storm No. 10.

Director of Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company, Tran Manh Cuong, said: To lower the lake water level and proactively respond to weather conditions, in recent days, the unit has operated and regulated water through Doc Mieu spillway with a flow rate of 10 m3 /second.

From the night of September 26, storm BUALOI will enter the eastern sea area of the central East Sea, becoming storm number 10 in 2025.

According to the assessment of the hydrometeorological agency, after entering the East Sea, the storm will move along the coast towards the North Central and Southern Northern Delta provinces, with a very high risk that the storm will directly affect Ha Tinh province on September 28-29. From September 27-29, Ha Tinh is forecast to have very heavy rain, and there is a possibility of major flooding on the rivers.

According to Mr. Tran Manh Cuong, at 7:00 a.m. on September 26, the elevation of Ke Go Lake was 27.48/32.5m, equivalent to a capacity of 213.3/345 million m3 , reaching 61.83% of the design.

Due to the forecast of complicated storm and rain situation, from 8:00 a.m. on September 27, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited increased the water flow regulation through Doc Mieu spillway with the flow rate from 20 - 120 m3 /second.

Ha Tinh proactively discharges reservoirs to prevent heavy rain.

Along with Ke Go Lake, to proactively respond to the forecast of heavy rain caused by storm No. 10, Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited will simultaneously operate spillway discharge at 4 large reservoirs in the province, including: Song Rac, Kim Son, Tau Voi, Khe Xai.

The spillway discharge will start at 8am on September 27th, with a flow rate of 3-80m3 /sec. The end time will depend on weather conditions and lake water levels.

In parallel with the proactive spillway discharge of large reservoirs, the water level of 28 small-capacity reservoirs such as Thuong Tuy, Khe Giao, Da Den, Mac Khe, Van Vo, Moc Huong, Da Cat, Khe Lau, Khe Nay, Dam Mung... that are freely overflowing is currently approximately equal to the spillway threshold elevation.

In case of rain, the water level of these lakes will increase and flow freely over the spillway with an expected flow rate of 1 - 90 m 3 / second.

Nam Ha Tinh Irrigation Company Limited requested that downstream localities urgently notify, urge, and guide people to implement measures to ensure safety of life and property.
