Emergency support for 450 households affected by unusual floods in June 2025

Through the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations, Samaritan's Purse (USA) donated 450 relief boxes including food packages and essential items to 450 households affected by natural disasters. This aid for Quang Tri has a total value of 1,238,400,000 VND. Each relief box worth more than 2.7 million VND includes household and kitchen items such as 80-liter water tanks, blankets, mosquito nets, pans, pots; personal hygiene items such as laundry detergent, towels, toothbrushes...; food packages including rice, milk, cooking oil, fish sauce...

The flood from storm No. 1 (storm Wutip) caused a lot of damage to communes in Quang Tri province, especially the southern communes.

Vice Chairman of My Thuy Commune People's Committee Le Dac Trieu said that after the erratic floods that occurred in mid-June 2025, more than 900 hectares of rice were deeply flooded and had to be re-sown, along with 61 hectares of papaya, 15 hectares of watermelon, and a number of other crop areas that were severely damaged.

Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations Tran Khanh Phoi said: Samaritan's Purse is a US non-governmental organization, operating in the field of providing clean water, rural sanitation and helping children in difficult circumstances, emergency aid, overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, preventing human trafficking, livelihoods and supporting education in some localities in the country. This is a non-project aid, emergency relief that Quang Tri received after the erratic rain that occurred in mid-June 2025 to support people to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize their lives.
