Having defeated Ho Chi Minh City FC in the previous round, SLNA showed more confidence when hosting Binh Dinh FC at Vinh Stadium on the evening of June 25. Both teams played quite well and created many scoring opportunities but were unsuccessful in finishing. With a 0-0 draw, Binh Dinh FC is temporarily ranked 7th with 16 points, while SLNA is still ranked 10th with 13 points.

Speaking after the match, Mr. Bui Doan Quang Huy, assistant coach of coach Nguyen Duc Thang, said that his team's coaching staff reacted to referee Tran Dinh Thinh because Pham Van Thanh's goal in the first half was disallowed by the referee for offside.

"Our coaching staff reacted because in this round, all teams have to fight for points to get into the top 8. In our opinion, Pham Van Thanh's goal was not offside. The referees need to review this play. If there is a mistake, there needs to be disciplinary action against the referee," said Mr. Huy.

Mr. Huy also said that Binh Dinh FC is trying hard in the last match of phase 1 to enter the top 8 with the efforts of the whole team, not depending on any individual.

There were many opportunities but SLNA's two "gunners" foreign players could not score any goals against Binh Dinh FC.

Having shared points in this match, new coach Phan Nhu Thuat expressed regret when SLNA created many good chances but did not score any goals. "Both teams played well, both had many chances but were unlucky. We regret that our scoring opportunities were missed. But that's football. Although we did not win this match, I am satisfied because the players played with great spirit. However, tactics and finishing also need to be improved," said Mr. Thuat.

The upcoming away match against Hanoi FC is expected to be very difficult for SLNA, but coach Phan Nhu Thuat is still confident. He said: "We will fight to the end to get into the top 8".
