On September 30, leaders of the Department of Health and its affiliated units went to Lao Cai General Hospital No. 1 and Yen Bai Regional Medical Center to grasp the situation and directly direct the response and recovery work caused by floods.

In recent days, a number of medical stations and sub-stations in the area were flooded. After the water receded, medical staff coordinated with support forces to clean up. In particular, Yen Son Medical Sub-station has completed the cleaning, but due to its location in a low-lying area, there is still a risk of flooding. Therefore, the station was temporarily moved to the old Yen Son Commune People's Committee headquarters to ensure medical examination and treatment activities for the people.

The health sector also quickly took action to treat domestic water sources for affected medical facilities and disinfect the environment for medical facilities and households affected by storms and floods.
Propaganda activities and instructions for people on how to treat domestic water and environmental sanitation have been promoted by medical units on websites, fanpages...
In Official Dispatch No. 1371/SYT-NVY dated September 30, 2025 on focusing on responding to and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 10 and post-storm floods, the Department of Health requested units to deploy plans to ensure safety for medical facilities in case of prolonged natural disasters, while maintaining good health care and emergency care for victims in all situations of incidents and natural disasters.

Accordingly, medical units must ensure emergency, transportation, admission and treatment; supply food and drinking water; and be ready to evacuate facilities, staff, employees and patients to safety when natural disasters or major catastrophes occur, paying special attention to vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, children, people with disabilities and other priority groups.
The Department of Health also directed the organization to be on duty 24/24 hours, ready to receive and provide emergency care to victims of floods and storms according to the instructions of superiors, without interrupting medical examination and treatment. At the same time, ensure adequate supply of essential medicines, timely replenishment of reserves of medicines, chemicals, and materials for disaster prevention and rescue.
Emergency and mobile treatment teams are assigned to be always ready, deploy medical care, and promptly support units when necessary. In addition, the communication system during natural disasters is maintained smoothly, with a permanent staff to receive and quickly process information and ensure smooth direction from the upper level to the grassroots.
