Can Tho students enthusiastically compete in science, programming, and robotics

TPO - On the afternoon of October 4, over 120 students aged 7-15 who are passionate about science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), programming and robotics participated in the Can Tho City Robothon Competition 2025.

The 2025 Can Tho City Robothon Competition is organized by the Can Tho Department of Education and Training in coordination with the Education and Times Newspaper and accompanying units. The competition has 122 students aged 7-15 participating, with different levels.

The competition is for students who are passionate about science , technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), love programming and robotics, and are studying at schools and centers in Can Tho City. Through the preliminary rounds, 60 teams entered the final round at the City level.

The competition takes place annually, helping students experience, exchange and learn, selecting outstanding faces to represent Can Tho to participate in the National and International Robothon Competition 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Phuc Tang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho, said that the contest aims to create a playground for students to explore and nurture their passion for STEM Robotics, demonstrate their abilities and interact with friends in the city.

The competition also helps students practice the knowledge they have learned to make a difference. Gradually equip students with an integrated set of skills in the STEM field, including programming thinking, design thinking, problem-solving ability and adaptability to the ever-changing world, ready to meet the global capacity of citizens in the digital age.

Participating in the competition, contestants must complete a task with the theme: “Terra Protocol” - Technology for a sustainable planet. Terra Protocol sets out a vision where humanity is forced to apply advanced technologies - such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, blockchain - to build a balanced, sustainable and climate-resilient world.

Contestants and teams must apply STEM Robotics knowledge and skills to program and control robots to optimally complete tasks according to given requirements.

As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded 3 First prizes to the teams: Binh Thuy Primary School (Primary), Ngo Quyen Primary School (Intermediate), Doan Thi Diem Secondary School (Advanced). The Organizing Committee also awarded 5 Second prizes, 8 Third prizes and 13 Encouragement prizes.
