It is known that the number of students using foreign language certificates for graduation and university admission in Hanoi has increased rapidly in recent years.
In 2019, the whole city had about 5,000 students with foreign language certificates used to consider recognition of high school graduation.
In 2020, there were about 7,000 students; in 2021, there were more than 10,000 students; in 2022, there were more than 13,000 students, and this year, there are 15,991 students.
This shows that foreign languages are a subject that students are increasingly interested in, and learning results are of good quality.
In 2023, the Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that candidates who have one of the valid foreign language certificates (same or different from the foreign language they are studying at high school) that is valid until at least June 27, 2023 and achieves the minimum score as prescribed will be exempted from the foreign language test in the consideration of high school graduation recognition.
In recent years, Hanoi has been one of the few localities that have the conditions to exempt a large number of people from taking the foreign language test.
Candidates who are exempted from the foreign language exam for high school graduation can still register to take the foreign language exam for university and college admission.
Taking foreign language certificate exams is currently receiving attention and investment from students of all levels as more and more universities encourage priority points and combine admission results with candidates with high scores and foreign language certificates.
