Nghe An Province Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin held a meeting to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam.

On the morning of August 8, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Nghe An province held a meeting to commemorate the 64th anniversary of the Agent Orange disaster in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2025).

Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; comrades of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin.

At the meeting, Mr. Tang Van Canh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented a speech commemorating the Vietnam Agent Orange Disaster Day (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2025).

The speech stated: No chemical warfare can compare to the chemical warfare that the US army conducted in Vietnam, which was the largest-scale, longest-lasting, and most catastrophic war in human history.

Over the past 64 years, the Party, State, authorities and organizations at all levels have always cared for Agent Orange victims both spiritually and materially. With the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Provincial Fatherland Front Committee on the establishment of the Agent Orange Victims Fund and the care and assistance for victims and their families in especially difficult circumstances, Nghe An province has supported the construction of 250 houses and the repair of 168 houses; supported 510 production capital; awarded 192 scholarships; visited and presented gifts on War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), "Vietnam Agent Orange Disaster Day August 10" and Lunar New Year every year with tens of thousands of gifts. The total amount of money and in-kind support has been over 40 billion VND.

The gifts and kindness of organizations and individuals for Agent Orange victims have enhanced the traditional beauty of “loving others as you love yourself” of the Vietnamese people in general and of the people of Nghe An in particular. At the same time, it is a source of motivation for Agent Orange victims to always be optimistic, love life, have confidence in life, and strive to integrate into the community and society...

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin requested the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin at all levels in Nghe An to continue to care for and support victims and their families in difficult circumstances, to rise up in life. At the same time, he hoped that the victims would always have an optimistic spirit and rise up in life.

Also at the meeting, the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented 4 wheelchairs to victims in Vinh Hung, Thanh Vinh and Truong Vinh wards; and 8 gifts to victims in the province.

On this occasion, Lieutenant General Nguyen Huu Chinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin presented 30 gifts to Agent Orange victims affected by storm No. 3 and awarded 3 livelihood support packages to victims in Nghe An province.
