On October 10, implementing the National Target Program on Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in 2023, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized a ceremony to hand over breeding cows to households participating in building a value chain cattle farming model in Van Phuong commune, Nho Quan district.

In 2023, the Provincial Farmers' Association was assigned by the Provincial Steering Committee of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction to be in charge of Van Phuong commune, Nho Quan district in the work of building and completing advanced new rural standards in 2023.

With the assigned responsibilities, the Provincial Farmers' Association has regularly contacted, exchanged, and organized many activities to help farmers in Van Phuong commune in economic development and income increase; propagandized and supported the construction of economic development models and environmental protection models in residential areas, contributing to improving the criteria in building advanced new rural areas; including activities to support farmers in Van Phuong commune in building a model of raising cows according to the value chain.

The Provincial Farmers' Association coordinated with Van Phuong commune to survey and select 14 households in 5 villages to ensure the right subjects to build the model. These are farmer members belonging to ethnic groups, poor and near-poor households who have the need and voluntarily applied to participate in the model.

The model of raising cows according to the value chain in Van Phuong commune has a scale of 28 cows, in which the State supports 14 breeding cows and households provide 14 cows in return. The goal of the model is to exploit the potential and advantages of the locality; innovate, promote economic development, ensure social security; reduce poverty quickly and sustainably.

The implementation of the value chain model for raising cattle in Van Phuong commune helps households raising cattle to connect, exchange, and grasp raising techniques to maintain and develop herds of cattle, increase income for local people, and contribute to the development of local herds of cattle. Currently, the total herd of households is over 50. It is expected that the number of supported breeding cows after 1 year of implementing the model will increase by at least 30% compared to the number of supported cows.

To make the model effective, the leaders of the Provincial Farmers' Association requested that after receiving the cows, the families take care of and raise them according to the technical process they have been trained in, properly implement their commitments, strengthen their connections, and exchange experiences in raising animals for mutual development. They requested that local leaders, the Commune Farmers' Association, and the Provincial Farmers' Association continue to pay attention to, monitor, and help households participating in the model achieve high results.

After handing over breeding cows to households, the delegates visited Mr. Dinh Xuan Dinh's household (Bong Lai village), which was selected by the Provincial Farmers' Association to participate in the model of raising cows according to the value chain and managing the collection and treatment of waste and rural wastewater.
