More than 15.4 million international visitors chose to explore Vietnam after 9 months

Welcoming over 15.4 million international visitors (up 21.5% over the same period in 2024), Vietnam's tourism revenue in the past 9 months is estimated at VND 69.6 trillion (up 20.5% over the same period last year).

According to data recently released by the General Statistics Office, in the first 9 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 15.4 million international visitors (up 21.5% over the same period in 2024), of which September alone reached 1.52 million (down 9.6% over the previous month, and up 19.5% over the same period last year).

Notably, China and South Korea are the two markets that contribute nearly 50% of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam. China is currently the largest market sending visitors to Vietnam with more than 3.89 million arrivals (accounting for 25.2%); South Korea ranks second with over 3.23 million arrivals (accounting for 21%).

Among the 10 largest markets for Vietnamese tourism , there are also Taiwan (China) with 926.4 thousand arrivals, the United States - 622.5 thousand arrivals, Japan - 617.7 thousand arrivals... Notably, India has risen to become the 6th largest tourist market of Vietnam (504.6 thousand arrivals), surpassing Cambodia (489.8 thousand arrivals).

Of the total number of international visitors to Vietnam, 84.5% travel by air; 15.3% by road and 0.2% by sea.

After 9 months, the Russian market had the largest growth rate, reaching 273% compared to the same period last year, making Russia the 8th largest market for Vietnamese tourism with 435,100 arrivals.

Markets in Europe witnessed good growth results, in which the Russian market continued to grow very rapidly (up 173.0%), major markets in Europe all grew well such as France (up 22.6%), UK (up 21.7%), Germany (up 17.5%). Besides that, there are Poland (up 46.0%), Italy (up 22.3%), Norway (up 19.8%), Netherlands (up 18.3%), Belgium (up 17.9%), Sweden (up 17.0%), Switzerland (up 15.8%)...

This growth is attributed by experts to the positive impact of the visa exemption policy and the effective implementation of tourism promotion programs in Europe by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, localities and businesses in recent times.

According to the General Statistics Office, tourism revenue in the first 9 months of 2025 is estimated at 69.6 trillion VND (up 20.5% over the same period last year). This result comes from the promotion activities of the entire tourism industry from the beginning of the year, along with the coordination of many localities in actively implementing stimulus programs and developing many new products to attract domestic and foreign tourists.

Some localities with high revenue growth in the first 9 months of 2025 compared to the same period last year include: Ho Chi Minh City increased by 24.3%; Hanoi increased by 21.9%; Quang Ninh increased by 20.2%; Da Nang increased by 13.2%.../.
