Many students at Tan My satellite school (Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1) were brought to school by their parents but only stood outside the yard because this school had closed to transfer all students to study at the main school about 2 km away.

According to Thanh Nien reporters, parents all knew that this school had closed but they objected.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nghia (68 years old, in Tan My residential group, Quang Phuc ward) said that if this isolated location is degraded, it should be upgraded, not abandoned. Similarly, Mr. Le Trung Dung (39 years old, in the same locality, has a child in grade 2) also wants to keep this school, because according to him, most of the students here have parents who work far away, so the responsibility of picking up and dropping off their children is left to their grandparents.

Mr. Phan Tien Lam, Principal of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1, said that Tan My satellite campus has 6 classes with 154 students. According to the direction of the People's Committee of Ba Don Town and the People's Committee of Quang Phuc Ward, this satellite campus must close in January 2025 due to serious degradation, not ensuring safety for teaching and learning. "We have organized 3 meetings to propagate and mobilize and prepare 6 classrooms at the main campus with full equipment to welcome students to school. However, since February 3, parents have not brought their children to study at the main campus," Mr. Lam said.

Regarding this issue, Vice Chairman of Ba Don Town People's Committee Nguyen Van Tinh said: "The town is balancing the capital to rebuild this school because it cannot be repaired, but the time may last a whole year. Therefore, to ensure the safety of students and teachers, we hope that people will temporarily send their children to study at the main school. We are still continuing to mobilize parents and students to agree; because the common view is that we cannot let children not go to school."
