More than 4,000 extra work opportunities for students during Tet holiday

(NLDO)- Having an early Tet holiday, many students took this opportunity to register for part-time jobs with attractive income levels.

The Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center (SAC) said it has set a target of supporting more than 4,000 students with reputable part-time jobs during this year’s Lunar New Year. Currently, SAC is entering its peak period, actively supporting students and businesses.

Mr. Le Nguyen Nam, Deputy Director of SAC, said that in recent years, the center has promoted job counseling through social networking channels, online counseling, and always arranged staff to support students in need of direct counseling and job search.

Minh Ngoc, a student at the University of Industry and Trade in Ho Chi Minh City, said that finding a part-time job in Ho Chi Minh City is not difficult, especially in Facebook groups. However, Ngoc always has to consider carefully, check whether the person posting the job is using a fake account or not, whether the salary is "false advertising", if a deposit is required to "hold a place", it is likely a scam.

"This is the second year I've found a part-time job during Tet through SAC's recruitment post. This year, I'll work at a fried chicken shop until the 30th of Tet, then I'll ride my motorbike back to Long An to reunite with my family," Ngoc said.

There are many specific jobs recruited during Tet such as: Cashier, warehouse staff, staff loading goods, wrapping gifts, processing at supermarkets; waiters, kitchen assistants, parking attendants at restaurants, food chains; security guards, delivery staff, housekeepers, gardeners, housekeepers during Tet, etc.

According to Mr. Nam, the average income of students will range from 25,000 - 50,000 VND/hour, or 140,000 - 400,000 VND/day, depending on the time, working time, type of work and workload. In particular, during the Lunar New Year, businesses often pay double or triple the salary or give gifts and Tet lucky money to students working.

"Although SAC is only an intermediary unit connecting and supporting businesses and students, it always carefully checks the recruitment information of businesses to ensure that these jobs are suitable and safe for students," Mr. Nam emphasized.
