More than a hundred people search for tourists who have been missing for more than 2 days in Cuc Phuong National Park

The leader of Cuc Phuong National Park said that authorities have sent teams to search for a tourist who lost contact during a nature exploration trip.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online on the afternoon of August 16, a leader of Cuc Phuong National Park confirmed that authorities are actively searching for Mr. NQM (33 years old, residing in Hai Phong City), who is currently confirmed to have lost contact at this national park.

At 5:00 p.m. the same day, relevant units compiled information and met to discuss appropriate search plans.

Previously, 11 search teams with hundreds of people were mobilized. As of the afternoon of August 16, the teams reported no results.

The leaders of Cuc Phuong National Park noted that the national park always recommends that visitors strictly comply with regulations when visiting and exploring the nature here, such as going in teams and groups and having guidance from authorities to ensure safety and avoid unfortunate incidents.

According to initial information, on the afternoon of August 13, Mr. NQM went to Cuc Phuong National Park for tourism . VNA reported that Mr. M. went to Bong area, the farthest tourist spot from the park gate, about 20km away, and went sightseeing alone.

Mr. M. bought tickets to visit and rented a room like other tourists, but chose to go alone into the forest to explore nature.

On the morning of August 14, Mr. M. went sightseeing alone along the Cho Chi tree route, the main sightseeing route in this area. On the tour route, Mr. M. left his backpack at the entrance of Son Cung cave.

At around 3:00 p.m. on August 14, Mr. M's backpack was discovered by a foreign tour guide while visiting Son Cung cave. After a while of searching for the backpack's owner without success, the tour guide went down to report to the staff of the Bong area forest ranger station.

Mr. M's family also went to Cuc Phuong National Park and talked with the authorities to get more clues and hope to find their relatives as soon as possible.

Speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. NTT (M.'s mother) said that the family had reported the incident to the police and hoped her son would return soon.

As of this afternoon, according to Ms. T., the family has not received any new information from the search force in Cuc Phuong forest. However, the officers informed that the search is facing many difficulties such as the large area of ​​the cordoned off area, no phone signal, unfavorable weather...

The mother added that Mr. M. was a person who had a habit of exploring and learning about nature alone. Previously, when he was a student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he participated in many volunteer activities, and later became a volunteer in ecological conservation at Cuc Phuong National Park.

According to Ms. T., before leaving, Mr. M. brought along all his belongings, such as a jacket, flashlight, etc. When he arrived at a small cave in Cuc Phuong forest, due to the small entrance, he may have left his backpack behind to explore.

When you come out, you might get lost because the entrance to the cave is very dark. If you go deeper and deeper, you need to have more lights. Then the light from above will shine in.

Instinctively, the explorer would follow the light to exit, but this led to mistaking the cave entrance.

Cuc Phuong National Park is Vietnam's first national park, 120km south of Hanoi, nestled deep in the Tam Diep mountain range.

Many domestic and foreign tourists come here to explore wild nature.
