Meeting of the Provincial Advisory Council for Evaluation and Acceptance, project "Research on development and application of unburnt clay bricks using local materials to support the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Bang province"

On the morning of September 11, the Department of Science and Technology (KH&CN) of Cao Bang province held a meeting of the Provincial Advisory Council for Evaluation and Acceptance of the project: "Research on development and application of unburnt clay bricks using local materials to support the policy of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Bang province", chaired by the Hanoi University of Architecture. Comrade Trieu Dinh Thang - Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Chairman of the Council, chaired the meeting.

Mr. Tran Trung Hieu, Project Manager, reported the results at the Acceptance Council.

 

During 30 months, the project has completed 06 contents in the presentation including : General research on housing in difficult areas in Cao Bang province; survey and assessment of the current status of difficult housing in some typical districts in Cao Bang province; research on solutions for using local materials for housing construction in difficult areas in 03 districts of Hoa An, Tra Linh, Trung Khanh (old); propose solutions for designing houses in difficult areas using local materials in Cao Bang province; research on the application of building model houses in the field; transfer of technology for manufacturing unburnt clay bricks and construction process of houses in difficult areas.  

After 30 months of implementation, the project group has completed the following products: Research and successfully manufacture unburnt clay bricks from available materials in Thanh Cong commune (formerly Nguyen Binh district), Cao Bang province; research and successfully manufacture a hydraulic brick press with high pressure to meet the requirements of producing unburnt clay bricks using pressing technology; build, propose the process and construction measures for houses using unburnt clay brick walls and apply this process to the construction of 01 house for 01 poor household in Thanh Cong commune; proposed 03 sets of construction design drawings and cost estimates of 03 typical houses using locally available materials; trained, coached, and transferred the process of making bricks for house construction in Cao Bang city to 05 students....

At the meeting, the council members highly appreciated the presiding agency for its enthusiasm and responsibility in completing the contents as described in the proposal. However, in addition to the achieved results, the council members suggested that the implementing unit should supplement and clarify the following contents: There should be clearer recommendations on the use of unburnt clay bricks for houses, roofs and expanded use in other works...; it is necessary to clearly state the unit receiving the transfer after the acceptance of the project; basic standards for production to serve as a basis for replication after the project ends;...

After discussion, the Council agreed to accept the project and classify it as Passed./.
