After the merger, the new Liaison Committee has a common name: Liaison Committee of former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts helping Laos in Phu Tho province. The Liaison Committee has over 3,000 members, operating in 148 communes and wards. These are former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who carried out international missions and fought side by side with the Lao army and people in the revolutionary cause of fighting for national liberation and defending the Fatherland.
The merger is in line with the plan to consolidate provincial administrative units so that the Liaison Committee's activities can run smoothly without interruption, while promptly protecting the interests and encouraging members to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers and actively participate in local movements. At the conference, the Liaison Committee approved the minutes, elected the new head and deputy head of the Liaison Committee after the merger; and awarded the Lao State's Heroic Medal to groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.
