Had to remove MV "Can't Close Eyes" because of criticism of plagiarism but in the end, Hung Huynh's brother was wronged.
Recently, Senlaw LLC (Huynh Huynh's legal representative) announced that "Can't Close My Eyes" was not copied from BigHit Music's MV "Standing Next to You".
Accordingly, this conclusion is based on the professional appraisal conclusion No. 01/2025/KLGD-TTGĐ of the Copyright Office Appraisal Center.
The Appraisal Center and the Copyright Appraisal Advisory Council in Decision 08/QD-TTGĐ, including representatives from the Vietnam Musicians Association, the Department of Management & International Cooperation on Copyright and Related Rights; the Copyright Office, and musicians and directors, concluded: "There is no copying between the audio and video recording "Chang the om mat" of the owner, Mr. Huynh Hoang Hung, and the audio and video recording "Standing next to you" of BIGHIT MUSIC CO., LTD".
The MV "Can't Close My Eyes" was directed by Ung Duy Kien, the production team Film55 Production and Hung Huynh, based on the song of the same name composed by musician Trung Tran (Tran Chi Trung), with music produced by Kewtiie (Dinh Minh Hieu).
Thus, the MV "Can't Close My Eyes" and the individual Hung Huynh do not violate any copyright and related rights to the MV "Standing next to you" such as the rights to name, title, create derivative works, copy, publish, or protect the integrity of the work according to the current Intellectual Property Law and related regulations.
"Senlaw commits to protecting the legitimate rights of artist Hung Huynh against all false accusations and calls on relevant parties to act in good faith, for the sustainable development of Vietnamese art and culture" - Senlaw representative shared.
Having just debuted with "Can't Close My Eyes", Hung Huynh's brother received fierce criticism from netizens. To the point, Hung Huynh decided to remove the MV he had just released from his YouTube channel.
After many days of waiting, Hung Huynh was finally able to clear his name. The MV "Can't Close My Eyes" will reappear on YouTube.
Sharing about this incident, Huynh Huynh affirmed that "these are priceless experiences. Although painful, they are also lessons for Hung Huynh himself to be more mature with higher determination for his artistic path."
