On the morning of September 12, the Giong Noi school of Vinh Hai 4 Primary School, Vinh Hai Commune, Can Tho City (formerly Vinh Chau Town, Soc Trang ), was bustling with activity unlike usual. The small school campus seemed to light up with 5 spacious classrooms and a new restroom.
The project is part of the "Upgrading Giong Noi School" project initiated and implemented by ILA through the Light Up The Future Fund, aiming to give all children, even those in remote areas, the opportunity to study in safe and bright conditions.
The event does not stop at a charity project, but is a milestone in ILA's 30-year journey - a journey of persistently connecting knowledge with community responsibility, so that every educational step always goes hand in hand with sharing.

Trips and Impressions
ILA’s volunteer journey can be likened to a memoir with pages full of memories. Over the past 3 decades, ILA has remained steadfast in its mission of contributing to building an educational foundation for Vietnamese children through practical and useful community activities.
In 2019, amidst the lush green fields of Tieu Can, Tra Vinh (now Vinh Long), Tap Ngai C Primary School received a “new look”. The Build A School campaign, with nearly 2 billion VND raised from parents, students and ILA staff, created spacious classrooms for more than 400 children. All carried the message that every child deserves a safe and complete path to knowledge.

Just a few years later, ILA continued to the vast Ha Giang region (now Tuyen Quang). In the poor commune of Ngam La (now Mau Due commune), life was still full of deprivation, children only had white rice 1-2 times/month. In that situation, Ngam La Primary School for Ethnic Minorities had its dormitory renovated to be more spacious and solid.
At the same time, more than 500 gifts including books, warm clothes, toothbrushes, school supplies and necessities were also handed to the children. These simple gifts opened up a new world, sowing the belief that they were not left behind, that knowledge and kindness always go hand in hand.

In recent years, ILA has also focused on ancillary projects. In Nam Tra My, Quang Nam (now Da Nang city), where the Bieu stream used to be a nightmare for Xe Dang students, a 55-meter steel bridge replaced the rickety wooden bridge, opening a safe path for little footsteps to go to school without fear.
At the same time, the C72 school of Tra Cang Primary Boarding School has a clean restroom for the first time. The total cost for the two projects and 430 gifts for Tra Cang students is up to 450 million VND, a practical gift, sharing difficulties and nurturing the belief in going to school for children in the highlands.

Continuing the goal of building auxiliary works to help children have a civilized and safe environment, at Giong Noi school, ILA also invested in building a new toilet area to ensure clean water for the children.
30 years - Knowledge goes hand in hand with sharing
Over the past three decades, ILA has not only created an international standard education but also quietly sowed the seeds of knowledge in the land of many deprivations. The journey of volunteering for the community is not only measured by the amount of money donated or the number of projects, but also by the bright eyes of students when entering a new classroom, the smiles of children in the highlands when receiving a warm coat, and the faith awakened in their little hearts.
For ILA, sustainable development is not just an achievement, but also a spread, so that more lives are touched, more dreams are cherished. And in Can Tho today, that footprint writes a new chapter in the three-decade journey of perseverance: sowing knowledge, building the future.

Mr. Phan Thanh Nha, Vice Chairman of Vinh Hai Commune People's Committee, shared: "Giong Noi Primary School is still lacking a lot, so the support to upgrade the school has a special meaning. This is a great encouragement for teachers, students and local people. ILA's support has instilled more confidence that, even in remote areas, our children can still study in better conditions, nurturing their dreams and aspirations to rise up. That is also the motivation for the locality to make efforts to care for future generations."
With ILA, every brick, every notebook, every scholarship is a commitment: Vietnamese children, wherever they are, deserve knowledge and opportunities. Thirty years have passed with many memorable milestones, but ILA's journey is still steadfast in carrying out its mission of building an educational foundation ready for the future, where knowledge and sharing go hand in hand.
